Wikipédia como REA no Ensino Superior: um caminho da utopia à realidade

The study sustains the first implementation in Portugal of the Wikipedia Program at the University and intends to understand how teachers and students of Portuguese Higher Education perceive and use Wikipedia educational contexts. Methodologically, a mixed approach was chosen, and two questionnaires were made available online. It was possible to conclude that both teachers and students access and have a positive conception regarding Wikipedia. However, it is still rare its use in educational practices. The students adopt it for academic and non-academic work, and the teachers use it for research of non-academic information. As for its credibility, for the students the correctness of the articles in Wikipedia is easily assumed; on the part of the teachers, there is some reservation. In short, although the conceptions and practices of teachers and students are favorable to Wikipedia, more training will be necessary so that it
can be consistently integrated in Higher Education.
