Abstract

Informational technologies have been offering different premises that continuously help shape patterns of behavior and disrupt traditional notions uphold by the social sciences. If we observe how many people experience digital ambiences today, it is reasonable to affirm that we continually witness both the transformation of pre-established conducts and, moreover, a shift in the signs that help frame interactions in any given ambient. This paper aims at discussing issues that surround the phenomenon of online interactions taken place at amateur porn sites. It discusses, as well, the characteristics associated with the spread of real time sex images, made by “ordinary people”, especially those related to social practices involving privacy issues. The site CAM4, given to its popularity and also to its recent growth in the online porn segment is the research object chosen for this analysis. Finally, deciding on the appropriate qualitative methods is the main concern of this paper.
