Métodos mistos aplicados à pesquisa em ambiente de convergência

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss relations between Depth Hermeneutics proposed by Thompson (1995) and Critical Discourse Analysis, specifically the so-called Textually Oriented Discourse Analysis proposed by Fairclough (2003), as mixed methods applied to research on processes of participatory practices in the media. The methodology of the research we discuss here results from the combination of these instruments and supports the analysis and interpretation of data collected and generated in a case study. The research scenario is a converging environment, including the convergence of technology, media, public and genres. The findings denote that dialogue between the two qualitative approaches enables the research of discursive processes involving social issues.
