Conceptions of a group of Undergraduates in Chemistry on CTS approach and the freirian’s category epistemological curiosity

Abstract

This work analyzed the understandings of graduates in Chemistry, on the relations between the freiriana category epistemological curiosity and the STS approach. From the reading of an article and room socialization of its main aspects, answers were presented in a virtual learning environment forum, to questions emphasized by the licenciandos themselves. The responses and the interactions were analyzed based on the analysis dimensions defined a priori based on the theoretical references adopted. It was found that the graduates still presented simplistic arguments about the STS approach as a way of overcoming naivete for criticality. Aspects about the valuation of previous knowledge of students in the process of knowledge construction were little discussed. These results point out the need to deepen the STS approach and its relationships.
