Approach of Socio-Scientific Issues: mapping of brazilian academic research from 2012 to 2016

Science and Technology questions present in the day to day and full of social, political, economical, ethical and cultural aspects are called Social-scientific Issues. From the Social-scientific Issues that are then questioned and the importance of society on deci-sions and products created by them are featured. The Social-scientific Issues present in day to day discussions about Technology and Science, however, although its importan-ce, limitations are identified for its approach, on the curricular development and of di-dactic materials, in teacher and student formation. Throughout a discipline of Research Trends in Science Teaching the following question arises: What is the panorama and characteristics of the Brazilian academic researches related to the subject Socio-Scien-tific Issues? The importance of issues has taken on for the science teaching, this object-tive to identify through dissertations and theses done on post-graduate Brazilian cour-ses, from 2012 to 2016, information that could guide a prospect of academic publica-tions (dissertations and theses) about Social-scientific Issues and understanding its con-tributions for the Science teaching. Therefore, a research was done about the state and knowledge type, and the organisation and analysis of data from the Content Ana-lyse. The results obtained showed a higher predominance of producti-on of research about Social-scientific Issues in some Brazilian regions and showed the categories of the analyse as a Context, Nature and Degree of Approach of Social-scientific Issues on academic researches that composed the core of this research.
