The study focuses its attention on the curricular integration of scientific contents as an essential quality for the professional training of Cuban students of Agronomic Engineering. We start from an approximation to the historical evolution of the construct until we identify its fundamental tendencies. The potentialities of the curriculum for the integration of socio-scientific and socio-professional experiences from the basic sciences (physics, chemistry, mathematics and biology) are declared. Theoretical methods were used (the historical-logical, the modeling, the systemic-structural-functional, the analytic-synthetic, the inductive-deductive); and the revision of documents as empirical method. The research was descriptive and assumed a mixed approach. The analysis made it possible to verify the growing trend towards the need to strengthen this process, since it has been an unsolved problem in the comprehensive training of professionals in this specialty.
