Training of the physiotherapist: challenges of care in primary health care

Physiotherapy is a profession that is historically recent and recent in the area of health. The data source for its mainstreaming in the annual model of biomedical, its structure the structured over the years, in a character extremly, and the National Curricular Guidelines collaborate for this process. For this reason, great risks have to face a real extension of their practice, mainly in Primary Health Care. Thus, this research aimed at the process of training of physiotherapists and influenced their practices related to care in Primary Health Care. Qualitative approach with 14 physiotherapists occurred in two phases. In the first series, a focal group and semi-structured interview were carried out. In the second phase, work workshop, for data validation and analysis on the training process of physiotherapists. Content analysis, thematic modality was a form of data analysis. We observed the graduation focused on the biomedical model, the absence of theoretical and practical training to act in the Primary Health Care. In the workshop, they proposed discussions to improve the training, in order to prepare them for the scenario. Physiotherapeutic issues have challenges for transformation, especially with regard to care for the elderly. However, it is necessary to take an approach on this subject, so that professionals can feel stimulated to reflect on their practice.
