Abstract

The proposed work aims at providing a comparative study of legislation and social protection policies to women victims of violence in Brazil and Portugal. For this, it is intended, on the one hand, analyze how the changes in families affect the established laws and how they are being implemented in the two countries, on the other, also aims to evaluate policies and programs for women victims of violence in both countries. The family transformations underway in our societies further confirm the importance of having a closer look at this reality. Violence against women occurs in most cases in the private world, the world of the family, so studying these two issues is critical in that it can also provide studies and assessments that enable the construction of public policies for these population segments.
