O processo de trabalho das equipes de saúde da família de Campina Grande – PB, Brasil, na perspectiva da educação permanente em saúde

Abstract

The process of health work differs from other works by the complexity of its subject (the person and their family, social groups or collectives), the specificity of their product (health actions) and the subjects’ participation in the process of care production. It is complex because the subjectivity that pervades the users and workers’ needs directly influences the product and the work itself. In Brazil, the work of the teams of the Family Health in Primary Health Care is focused on family and intended to provide comprehensive continuous care, with resolution and quality. This study aims to discuss key aspects of the work process of Family Health Strategy teams in view of continuous education that is based on meaningful learning and the possibility of transformation of practices. It represents a major change in the design and training of workers, because it is a mode of learning at work, where learning and teaching are incorporated into daily services. An action research, a qualitative research method that enables the interaction between the researcher and the study subjects, is being developed in Campina Grande, a municipality in the state of Paraiba, in two health care units that have two Family Health teams each. The subjects are the professionals and the technique of data collection is the focal group, complemented by participant observation. The empirical results are being subjected to discourse analysis. Until now three focal groups were developed in each health unit, focusing on the themes: Work Process in Health, Primary Care Information System and Teamwork, favoring collective reflection and local planning. Small changes are being noted, such as increased attendance at meetings, thus helping the service organization.
