This research was conducted with readers of Printed Newspapers of the City of Goiânia, Goiás, in the Midwest of Brazil. It is, therefore, a vision, but not as a case study because, more than that, the article presents a qualitative research on the role of the Official Printed Newspaper in the times of the Internet and Social Networking, where speed is ever more striking in the process of acquiring information and the identity of classic journalism is increasingly questioned by a society where the facts, events and news change with the development of new media and consumer behavior. Qualitative research allowed an investigation beyond the initial search, and the answers kept us leading towards a scientific reflection within the sensory perspective and the informative, analytical, critical, reflective and opinionated genders, classics in printed media, that took another dimension, beyond their existence and the role they primarily play. The data presented here will continue in similar research taking place in the city of Rio de Janeiro and later in comparison with European cities in order to study the relationships readers have with the present day printed newspaper.
