Compreendendo a gravidez na adolescência e as situações de violência intrafamiliar

Abstract

Epidemiological statistics confirm that 60% of pregnant women were victims of intimate partner violence during marriage and 20% of them suffered severe physical and psychological violence during pregnancy (DURANT, 2006). This study is part of a larger project entitled “Study of domestic violence against pregnant adolescents in a health primary care service in East Zone of São Paulo City: Basis for intervention” (Salcedo-Barrientos, 2012). Prospective, descriptive and exploratory, using qualitative data analysis according to Agreste (1990) and Speech Analysis according to Fiorin (2005), this work investigated the strengths and vulnerabilities of pregnant adolescents in face of suffered domestic violence. It has been sustained by Theory of Praxis Intervention in Public Health Nursing (TIPESC) (EGRY, 1996). The study investigated 10 pregnant adolescents who were assisted by the Family Health Strategy and residents in the East Zone of São Paulo City. Empirical categories were identified in adolescent´s speeches and this article will present two of them and their dimensions: “adolescent pregnancy” and “family violence against adolescents”. Therefore, this study contributed to give subsidies to build new diagnostic tools and also reflect about more effective and efficient health practices in assistance to pregnant adolescents who are victims of violence.
