Abstract

Teaching of Natural Sciences should include the student from an early age, however the teacher who works in the early years of elementary school requires continuing education so that they can actually be qualified for such content teaching so fruitful. The present work it is a case study where we investigate the methodological strategy through Focus Group as teachers of the early years, participating in a continuing education program for teachers in Natural Sciences, have exploited Sciences along with their students. Still, to analysis of the results organized into thematic categories testimony in light of the technique of content analysis. From a space integrating and sharing promoted by the Focus Group, we find that science education is still incipient along the segment in question, and such teachers are obstacles which prevent the debate of scientific issues on a regular basis in classroom. It is important to note that the survey gave us subsidies for inserting, through the continuing education program for teachers, methodological strategies and themes that enabled the articulation of Sciences, the Portuguese Language and Mathematics in line with the demands of the group.
