MAECC®: um caminho para mapear investigação

Abstract

Mapping knowledge is not an exclusive trait of the so-called qualitative research. On the contrary, it is one of the stages common to any design and type of research. Furthermore, it is one of the key steps in the path of every researcher. And, preferably, it is the first to follow because not only does it allow placing one’s study towards prior knowledge, but also framing one’s own research.

Thus, in this text, we start by presenting our perspective on what it is to map research, highlighting some of its features to bear in mind. We then briefly refer to different possible ways to achieve it. Finally, we describe the Meta-model to Analyze and Explore Scientific Knowledge® (MAECC®), a specific and innovative way of mapping research, in any field of study.
