Exploração do jogo “Fazenda Feliz” em contexto educativo

The use of games in an educational context has been a goal of several investigations and when applied considering the contents and goals, games based on technology gather innumerous advantages related to students’ motivation and interests. Therefore, it was developed a study using the game “Family Barn”, freely available online, with elementary school students that attend the 4th year, since it appears to be an adequate tool to allow the exploitation of Environmental Studies contents. Afterwards there were selected the goals intended to be exploited namely related to agriculture and cattle breeding, themes integrated in unit 6 – Discovering Inter relations between Nature and Society.
To proceed to data collection it was created a questionnaire, a worksheet and a logbook which were, afterwards, submitted to analysis. The use of the game in the educational context depicted has motivated the students, turning them attentive and committed in the tasks performance. The game proved to be an excellent tool in the development of concepts related to the contents and, although it is a virtual farm, it contributed for students’ learning.
