In Chemistry Teaching, we seek to construct educational didactic activities based on themes that can contribute significantly to student learning. The identification of this theme is made based on elements of the thematic investigation process, which arises through problem situations in the students’ daily lives. In this research, work was undertaken with the motivating theme “Medicines”, with the aim of evaluating a didactic sequence for the Teaching of Chemistry, using this theme combined with the Science-Technology-Society (STS) approach. Regarding the approach, this research is qualitative and descriptive, and for this purpose a questionnaire was used as a data collection instrument, followed by the application of a didactic sequence in four moments and the creation of a cartoon by the students. The results indicated that the topic of pharmaceuticals suggests being a pertinent topic in Chemistry classes, giving it an important social function and contributing to literacy in science and technology, enabling students to assume a more active citizenship.
