The aim of this work, we located articles on the STS approach in Brazilian Qualis A1 journals in the areas of Education and Teaching, identifying the works that mention teacher training for pedagogical practice with a STS approach. The aim of this work is to investigate the relationship between these articles and the theme of teacher training in order to understand their contributions to the implementation of the STS approach in pedagogical practice. We found 54 articles on STS, of which 31 mention teacher training. Nine deal with STS and the curriculum, six study STS teaching proposals, six analyze teachers’ conceptions of STS, five discuss the STS approach, four study STS approaches carried out in pedagogical practice and one discusses the relationship between the textbook and the STS approach. We conclude that the STS studies developed in these papers complement each other and can contribute to teacher training by contributing to a reflective and critical perspective on the possibilities of working with scientific concepts, also encompassing practical applications, social impacts and ethical issues in their pedagogical practices.
