The relevance of the interests and attitudes of students regarding chronic non-communicable diseases and food-borne diseases in Argentina

Abstract

This work investigates the interests and attitudes of students regarding food issues. To do this, the ROSES-2021 questionnaire is taken as a reference, and other items associated with a taxonomy of food education developed in Argentina have been added. The interests that obtained a higher percentage of acceptance are those associated with the legal aspects of food, pet feeding, environmental issues and their association with food production, and the dependency between human, animal, plant and environmental health. These results allow us to highlight the importance of education Science, Technology, Society (STS) and, especially, the incorporation of meta-knowledge, such as geography, to be able to approach food from the perspective of One Health: encompassing environmental, human, plant and animal aspects.
