The category of Contemporary Thinkers’ in STS Teaching publications: notes and reflections for teacher training

This article analyses the STS Education field by emphasizing the role of the theoretical framework of Science Sociology in this fields’ publications, arguing that in order to have a clearer view of the Science and Technology dynamics, social studies present relevant issues that should accounted for. For this purpose, through an exploratory research, we analyzed data from a database prepared by the research group STS and Education, CEFET-RJ. Among the existing quotes, only a few refer to the analyzed categories. The category “Contemporary Thinkers” is presented here as being the most representative of these.
