Investments in education for social inclusion of an increasing share of the population is a major factor for the development of any country that aims to be a protagonist in the global economy. The article attempts to show the progress of indigenous higher education in Roraima, which, by the 2010 Census, is proportionally the state more native to Brazil. The purpose is to present the process of democratization of higher education in Brazil, with the adoption of affirmative action policies of the Universidade Federal de Roraima (UFRR), which has allowed diversity of indigenous peoples of the Amazonian enter university. The educational policy of UFRR, in recent times, it constitutes a powerful tool for the promotion of citizenship and the ethnodevelopment of Amazonian indigenous peoples.
