Research in Mathematics has increasingly shown the need and the importance of including the progressive construction of mathematical notions in Pre-School Education, which is a determining area for the integral development of the child. In this sense, the present study was developed with children who are five years old and its main objective is to identify and analyze the children’s attitudes and mathematical knowledge acquired by children through the use of the Multibasic Calculator (MC). In this research, the implemented processes and the results obtained are presented, referring to strategies, reasoning and arguments described by children. Despite the motivation of this research lies in the experience of teaching in Polytechnic Higher Education, in a Curricular Unit (CU) called “Numbers and Structures”, integrated in the Basic Education Degree (BED) study plan, this article focuses on the dynamics established in Childhood Education and the results obtained based on the material referred to.
