The present study’s objective is to research the evolution that occurred between 2000 and 2014 of: the incorporation and the attention given to socio-environmental problems, as well as, the proposed measures to be adopted in the field of Science-Technology-Society, by analysing contributions made in different Ibero and Ibero-American STS seminars in Education and Science. For this purpose, the existence of expressions such as: STSE, Sustainability and others related to those concepts were analysed, in all publications of the eight STS seminars conducted so far. Results show that in the last decade, in response to the deterioration of the world’s condition and to the diversity of appeals made onto educators from different institutions, a significant increase has been developing in what concerns socio-environmentally themed interactions in education – symbolically represented by the addition of the letter ‘E’ to STS, thus emphasizing the role of Environment. Moreover, the intellectual production also demonstrates increased attention towards transitioning into fairer and more sustainable societies.
