Abstract

Through the restrictive and incorrect perspective of an eye-witness, whose version of facts infl uences perception, thus turning the accused subsequent account of the event into an untrustworthy fi ction, Guy de Maupassant questions, in the short story «La Ficelle», concepts such as truth, justice and the shaping of reality by human mind.
