José Régio e o poema em prosa

Abstract

In the fi rst part of this article, we provide an overview of one of the most complex lyrical genres – the prose poem –, focusing on one theoretical aspect: the subversive nature of this literary form, manifested in its use of narrative elements. In the second part, we suggest some reading guidelines for José Régio’s prose poems, which provide some enlightening insights into this author’s poetry, while maintaining a connection with this genre’s historical and literary path.
