Abstract

The novel niketche, by Mozambican author Paulina Chiziane, is based on a set of subversive speeches attributed to a first person female narrator who goes in search of a new identity for the twentieth century Mozambican woman, as opposed to a millennial domestic identity built for her by a predominantly patriarchal society.
