Abstract

The purpose of this article is to outline the profile of a Cape Verdean trickster in the novella Ptolomeu e a sua viagem de circum-navegação, by Tchalê Figueira, published in 2005. The concepts proposed by authors such as Antonio Candido e Roberto Da Matta around trickery support our analysis, aimed at the study of the character in relation to his environment.
