Abstract

The objective of this paper is to discuss the presence of the myth / mystical elements in Feliciano Galdino de Barros’ romance Luz e Sombras (1917), considered the first written novel in Mato Grosso, Brazil. In this sense, the analysis in their initial basis, favors binary manichean entering the narrative composition as destructuring element of characters and family relationships.
