Abstract

In this study, I present a brief look at Jewish characters in the works A geração da utopia (1992) and A gloriosa família: o tempo de flamengos (1997) by Pepetela. Such characters leave their homeland voluntarily, but experience the difficulties and toils of every subject in diaspora, reflecting the anguish and suffering which are illustrative of this experience both in Africa and in Europe.
Illuminators of the studies discussed here are the following theorists: Stuart Hall, Home Bhabha, Moacy Scliar, Zygmunt Bauman, Elisabeth Roudinesco, among others.
