Abstract

In a context of constant traffic, of crossing borders as well as different literary genres, Ruy Duarte de Carvalho metamorphoses his discursive production in a valuable document for scholars of culture. In his work, we find a concrete representation of a way of being in the Angolan world and, therefore, another way of expressing, knowing, projecting, defining and representing borders. The particular process of this literature and of the author in question shows with words, gestures
and reflections the experiences of this attentive traveller and, therefore, a gaze upon literary landscapes. That landscape is presented as an oblique instrument of transculturation capable of shortening gazes, worlds and borders. Work with reality is perceivable through a system of material and archival-dynamic representation, within which traces of memory and of collective spaces may be reinscribed. That memory-discursive procedure is a way of reappropriating places, organising senses, discourses in past times, as well as a way of representing the landscape and space of southern Angola.
