Emigration and immigration in the Roman colonies of Lusitania: the case of Scallabis Praesidium Iulium

Abstract

The main objective of the present work is to study the movements of population existing in the Roman colony of Scallabis Praesidium Iulium, today Santarém. The fundamental basis of the study is epigraphic documentation. We also make a brief approach to the Roman colonization of Lusitania studying some of its most important characteristics.
