Abstract

As the last tale of his collection A inaudita guerra da Avenida Gago Coutinho, Mário de Carvalho returns to the theme of the plague. Echoes of Thucydides or Camus are inevitable in resuming the motive. But despite its independence as a narrative, within the collection in which it is inserted, this tale is also a closing key to themes that are transversal to the whole.
