Abstract

In the books À Sombra da Memória, Rosto Precário e Os Afluentes do Silêncio, Eugénio de Andrade presents several chronicles on the creative act, of paramount importance to better understand his poetry and poetics.
Why did he compare a writer to an artisan? Did he value more the epiphany or the hard work? How did he deal with his literary influences? What were the main stylistic characteristics of his poetry? How does his writing resemble music? Where did he look for subjects to light the fire of his poetry? In my research, I field of literary studies, to understand the creative act in one of our most important writers.
