The silence of fear in “O sonho de Alima” by Lília Momplé
Abstract
The short story “O sonho de Alima” is based on an “integral realism” in which the main protagonist represents a social type of discriminated woman, illiterate, living bounded by ethnic tradition. Ironically, Alima denies submission to the ideas that reduces the woman to the condition of an object, seeking to build its own identity, which is political and ideological, socio-cultural and anthropological fracture.
