Punk Rock cantado em português e a mensagem salvífica do protestantismo – as obras de Samuel Úria e Tiago Cavaco

Abstract

With the motto Punk Rock and Religion, the important discographic record label FlorCaveira was founded in 1999 and started by then a lyrical and musical renewal of modern Pop-Rock music sang in Portuguese. Therefore, I will analyse the literary and musical works of two of the most prominent songwriters of FlorCaveira: the evangelical pastor, essayist and founder of FlorCaveira, Tiago Cavaco; and Samuel Úria, who is one of the most relevant contemporary Portuguese songwriters and a member of the Evangelical Baptist Church. I intend to study their intertextuality with the protestant theology and with some important authors such as Sóren Kierkegaard, Francis Shaeffer and Leonard Cohen.
