Abstract

Issues related to global warming and negative environmental impacts generate the need for research centers to develop tools for understanding their impacts on the environment. However, environmental impact studies in the seas and oceans require instruments with certain characteristics, such as vessels. In this way, the Federal University of Santa Catarina developed the ECO UFSC60 Maritime Shipping Sailboat for marine research due to the need to monitor the impacts of marine ecosystems on man's actions, which is the case study of this work. Thus, the objective of this work is to develop all the layout and furniture of the area of coexistence of the boat, providing comfort for the effective accomplishment of research activities, as well as for meals and moments of leisure (coexistence) and, consequently, to improve the quality of the work carried out on the expeditions, based on ergonomic principles and Small Space. The results points to the optimization of spaces,so that all the belongings of the crew can be stored, necessary for the expedition and, especially, for furniture that provides comfort and safety for its activities on the high seas.
