Research and Development of Interface for a website for the adoption of animals
Abstract
Brazil has more than 140 million domestic animals. Among these 5% are Animals in Vulnerable Condition (ACV), which represents 3.9 million pets (INSTITUTO PET BRASIL, 2019). In the present work, issues inherent to abandoned animals are discussed and how design can contribute to minimizing the damage caused by abandonment.
Therefore, the user-centered design approach was adopted with a view to proposing a website with the purpose of promoting abandoned animals and contributing to the increase of responsible adoption. Interviews were carried out with representatives of NGOs, questionnaires to potential users and the strategy of Garrett's five plans were adopted, which included the identification of needs and objectives, list of content and functionalities as well as the establishment of a navigation flowchart, wireframe, screens and prototyping.
