Perception of elderly on use of front walker – contributions to the studies of Assistive Technologies and Ergonomic Design

Abstract
The population’s aging has been a much discussed topic, since the increase of these individuals has been growing gradually. A portion of these require some kind of aid to march, either a caregiver or Assistive Technology devices. Thus, the aim of this study was to understand the perception that the front walker elderly users have over their devices. A survey was conducted with seven individuals from the Arealva City / SP, where it was found that most of the complaints focuses on pain and noise. There was also the need for further study on the subject, despite the significant contribution to the studies in the field of Assistive Technology and Ergonomic Design.
