Os primeiros quarenta anos de rádio em Moçambique: (1 932-1972)

Resumo

The first direct radio-telegraphic connection in short-wave communication between Moçambique and Portugal - and, according to somei, also between Africa and Europe - was made on 4 May 7927. The dream of an empire, the conception of a Portuguese voice that could reach its vast dominions, had arisen years before and was gradually being achieved. The creation of the Grémio dos Radiófilos da Colónia de Moçambique, in 1932, was one of the biggest steps in its striving to fulfil this dream. With this article, divided in two parts (historical and cultural), we hope to contribute for the understanding of the development of radio in Mozambique, as well as to provide a clear illustration of an epoch.
