CALL FOR PAPERS - SUBMISSION DEADLINE SEPTEMBER 30, 2026

The Editorial Team of “Ágora. Estudos Clássicos em Debate”, an open-access journal of classical scholarship, welcomes the submission of academic articles and book reviews, on Graeco-Roman antiquity, generally with a philological, literary, historical, or cultural focus. It will also accept studies of classical reception.

All submissions to this Journal are double-blind-refereed; and the refereeing process generally takes about three months from the date of initial submission, but is of course dependent upon the efficiency of reviewers

Submissions must be original and should not have been published previously or be under consideration for publication while being evaluated for this Journal.

All submissions should be sent electronically, in both Word and PDF format files,  to DLC-agora@ua.pt or by the platform of the Journal.

Authors should remove all references within the text that might identify them to referees; this is the author's responsibility rather than the editors.

Each paper published is assigned a DOI® number.

Ágora. Estudos Clássicos em Debate é uma revista que pretende estar aberta, em visão alargada, a todas as temáticas relacionadas com os estudos clássicos desde os primórdios da Literatura e da Cultura Grego-latinas até à receção que estas literaturas e culturas continuam a ter na atualidade nas civilizações de matriz ocidental, sem esquecer as problemáticas ligadas ao ensino do Grego e do Latim e a inserção destas duas línguas nos diversos curricula dos diferentes graus de ensino.
