Abstract

Jesuit Father Baltasar Teles is mostly known for his contribution to Ecclesiastical History. Nevertheless, as a result of his activity as a teacher of Philosophy and Humanities in the Jesuit Colleges at Évora, Braga, Coimbra and Lisbon, he published a voluminous Summary of Philosophy in Latin, besides a brief sample of Latin poetry which is the object of this article.
