The silence of Socrates

This article attempts to explore some aspects of the phenomenon of ‘silence’ in Socrates. The objective is to analyze the different Socratic attitudes in their context, along with some related terms (σιωπάω / σιγάω and σιγή / ἡσυχία). To this end, we mainly study the Platonic dialogues in order to clarify the function that silence may have in the philosophy of Socrates.
