Abstract

This paper proposes to analyze some passages of the Latin translations made by Thomas More of Lucian’s dialogues in order to observe and study the peculiarities of the Morean versions. The interest of this analysis responds to the need, recently stated by some scholars (Pawlowski, 2010; Cabrillana, 2022), to explore the causes of the deviations made by More in his translations from the Greek text insomuch as they could have some repercussions on the interpretation of the Morean thought.
