The article is about the Latin poem Dirae written by the humanist Pedro Ruiz de Moros in the context of the Lutheran Reformation. In particular, it analyzes the influence of Ovid’s Ibis and the twofold strategy used in defense of the papacy: the ‘give and take’ and the use of various episodes in Luther’s life.
