The Interpretation of Cultural Heritage, especially with the storytelling, is increasing its importance within the field of Tourism. Here, the travel sources come into play as an element that shapes the cultural context of the destination and/or its resources through the message they transmit about them. Thus, this study aims to demonstrate that these sources, specifically Pausanias, and travel accounts of the 18th and 19th centuries, have an influence on the Athenian tourist signage and its message. A theoretical model of storytelling has been deduced with the incorporation of travelers.
