Octavianus, who later took the name Augustus, paid special attention to architectonic undertakings throughout his political career and used them as a power strategy. In this article, we deal with the construction of the Apollo complex, on the Palatine, carried out by Octavianus, by emphasizing the symbolic importance of its building site and the god to whom it was dedicated and the relationship between this complex and the context of its consecration, as well as analyzing its key features.
