After finishing Antígona. Drama em três actos, in 1930, a rewriting of Sophocles’ myth which was nothing more than a pamphlet against the military dictatorship, Sérgio would again return to the same subject in order to write an invective against Salazar’s dictatorship around 1950. Based on this unpublished text, the author would later publish the Jornada Sexta do Pátio das Comédias, das Palestra e das Pregações by the end of 1958, and also intended to publish the Dialogue of Creon and Antigone autonomously, probably in 1959.
