Abstract

This article aims to comment on the “coin forgery” episode narrated by Diogenes Laertius (D.L. 6. 20-21) in his account on the life and thought of Diogenes the Cynic, seeking to prove that the diversity of the versions provided fully illustrates the constitution of the cynic tradition.
