Abstract

Using the translation of Cicero’s De Officiis in medieval Portuguese, we intend to contribute to the analysis of the construction aver de + infinitivo. We will compare the examples found with the Latin constructions present in the source text, in order to confirm they convey the same values and that these have been preserved in modern Portuguese.
