Abstract
The representations Jason received throughout the Greek and Latin literary tradition allowed the hero to assume many facets, but when the aspects pertaining to the end of his relationship with Medea are considered, he is often characterized as fickle. Bearing this in mind, we propose an analysis of his construction in the Epitome of the Philippic History of Pompeius Trogus, a work dating back to the first centuries of our era. We argue that the narrative of his return to Colchis with the purpose of giving back the throne to Aeetes could present him as a model of virtue to the reader of Justin's text.
