O simbólico na construção da imagem e do programa ideológico de Augusto: os mitos da fundação da Cidade

Abstract

This paper focuses on the importance of the myths of the foundation of Rome in the construction of the public image and the promotion of the political program of Augustus. Within this field, a most important piece is the Ara Pacis Augustae, an emblematic monument designed by Augustus and his entourage to promote an ideological and political message in contemporary society, perpetuating it for future generations.
