Os rolos das mulheres na Antiguidade Clássica: adereços de cultura ou livros de leitura?

Abstract

In this paper, we aim at understanding woman's relationship with books in the classical world, based on the analysis of iconographic documents and textual sources in which female figures are depicted with scrolls or
explicitly associated with books. We intend to assess whether the presence of such objects in the hands of women may be considered evidence of reading habits and literary culture.
